Emerging Markets: Geopolitics, Innovation and Returns
After delivering their strongest performance since 2017, Emerging Markets are re-entering the spotlight. Beneath recent volatility and geopolitical tensions, structural forces are reshaping the asset class: innovation in Asia, commodity tailwinds in Latin America, improving fundamentals, resilient earnings growth and meaningful valuation discounts versus developed markets. But how sustainable is this recovery and how should investors navigate through the geopolitical uncertainty? Xavier Hovasse, Head of Emerging Equities and Fund Manager of Carmignac Portfolio Emergents, will share his latest insights on EM and where the most compelling opportunities lie. He will explain why a sustainable, quality portfolio — anchored in strong balance sheets, earnings visibility and valuation discipline — is essential to navigating volatility and capturing opportunities.

Looking beyond the US Market
Current market conditions create a misleading sense of safety in the US. Elevated valuations and heavy concentration in mega-cap technology stocks mask underlying risks, and history suggests that starting from today’s valuation levels has typically led to only low single-digit returns over the following decade. In contrast, many markets outside of the US are trading at significant discounts— many nearly 60% cheaper than the US—with currencies that also appear undervalued. While the risks in these markets are more visible, the starting valuations offer a more attractive risk-reward profile. When weighing the risks, investing the majority of your portfolio in the US and avoiding other markets may in fact pose the greater long-term danger. Broader global exposure improves diversification and can reduce portfolio volatility. In addition, lower analyst coverage and market inefficiencies create opportunities for active managers to identify overlooked compounders and generate alpha. Join Matthew Spencer, as he explains how Orbis has been uncovering opportunities globally for decades and why many of today’s opportunities are outside the US.

Wellington Enduring Infrastructure Assets Fund
We have a power problem – a critical juncture for infrastructure
There is an urgent and growing need for investment in overstretched or aging infrastructure to meet the surging demand for power driven by the energy transition, the rise of artificial intelligence, and the push for greater national self-sufficiency. As governments and private sectors mobilise capital to modernise grids, transport networks, and digital infrastructure, investors have a unique opportunity to participate in a multi-decade structural trend. We believe infrastructure can offer meaningful diversification from traditional equity markets, along with the potential for attractive long-term returns. Its defensive characteristics, inflation-linked cash flows, and exposure to essential services make it a compelling addition to portfolios, particularly in uncertain macro environments. In this session, we’ll explore how to build balanced, long-term exposure to listed infrastructure across geographies and sectors.
